How tuition and aid work

The school gives its figures at a visit and on the admissions page, so you never read an old one.

  • Tuition is set by the year and by the room a child is in. Early arrival and extended days are billed apart, by the month, for the days a family uses them. The school's figures are on the admissions page and are given at every visit.

    • One tuition for each of the three rooms

    • Early arrival and extended days billed apart

    • Figures given at the visit

  • Registration

A family pays an application fee when it applies, which covers reading the application and meeting the child. After an offer, an enrollment fee holds the place. Both are listed, with their purpose, in the program matrix.

    • Application: when a family applies

    • Enrollment: when an offer is accepted

  • Holding a place

After an offer, a family has two weeks to sign the enrollment agreement and make a first payment, which goes toward tuition. Places that are not taken go to the waitlist, in the order families joined it.

    • Two weeks to answer an offer

    • The first payment goes toward tuition

    • Waitlist offers go out in order

  • Billing

Families choose to pay by the year, by the term or by the month, through the school's online system. Early arrival and extended days are billed by the month for the days used.

  • Financial aid is available; here is how to apply. Once an application is in, the office sends a short aid form. The head of school and two board members read each form and reply in the same week as admissions decisions. Ask the office about North Carolina's programs for families who may qualify.

    • An aid form follows the application

    • Replies come with admissions decisions

    • Ask us about state programs

  • Siblings

A second child, or a third, is handled differently, and the office will explain how when you apply. Brothers and sisters are read together, so a family hears about everyone at once.

  • Withdrawing

We ask families to tell the office in writing before the end of a term. The enrollment agreement explains how a term in progress is handled.
